Indian
industry
along with
government
agencies
need to take
up strict
measures in
order to
boost
countries
vanishing
handicrafts
and cottage
industry
.Still a
good part of
our country
gets its
overall
share of
annual GDP
from
agriculture
and village
industries
based
revenue.
The
imbalance
due to huge
migration of
people from
villages and
small cities
is
continuing
due to
improper
management
of
employment
sectors for
the people
at large.
Traditional
handicrafts
and products
play a vital
role in
providing
the much
needed bread
& butter for
the living
.Various
governmental
and
non-governmental
organization
are coming
forward for
providing
financial
assistance
for this
very cause.
Some of them
include
Development
Commissioner
(Handicrafts),
Ministry of
Textiles,
Government
of India,
which is
responsible
for
providing
assistance
under
various
schemes
covering
areas like
training,
design
development,
technology
up
gradation,
market
promotion,
exhibition,
publicity,
exports and
development
of
handicrafts
as well as
welfare of
the craft
persons.
Export
Promotion
Council for
Handicraft
under the
aegis of
Development
Commissioner
(Handicrafts),
Ministry of
Textiles,
Government
of India is
a non-profit
organization,
established
under the
EXIM policy
of
Government
of India in
the year
1986-87. It
has created
necessary
infrastructure
as well as
marketing
and
information
facilities,
which are
availed both
by the
member
exporters
and
importers.
Indian Expo
Centre is an
exclusive
venue which
entails
shows for
handicrafts.
It would be
surprising
to know that
EPCH
organizes
one of the
biggest
exhibition
in Asia .
Besides this
there are
other
organizations
like Small
Industries
Development
Bank Of
India SIDBI,
National
Agricultural
Bank of
Rural
Development
(NABARD),
Handicrafts
& Handlooms
Export
Corporation
of India
Ltd. (H.H.E.C.)
and many
more to the
list.
Government
organizations
are striving
hard to
maintain the
required
assistance
is being
provided to
handicrafts
industries.
The
Exhibition
industry
needs to
function for
the benefit
of small
scale
industries.
They need to
work on a
platform
where small
level fairs
can be
organized to
provide
assistance
and support
for the
people.
Exhibitions
intended for
small scale
industry
focuses on
the required
use of
resources
and provide
them with
the much
needed space
where they
can create
market to
harness the
maximum
benefit and
growth of
the
industry.
Various
fairs are
being
organized
every year
in small
cities to
attract
rural people
for their
commercial
benefit and
to provide
them the
much needed
information.
These type
of fairs
generate
income and
resources
for people
in various
smaller
sectors
where its
hard o
maintain an
overall view
of the
economy and
it becomes
hard to
create a
balance
between the
two.
Let us hope
that the
industry
stands in
support for
this cause
and bring
out a
platform so
we can work
for a better
India.
